Feeling like spring break
The sun is out and it looks and feels like spring. I feel like I should be outside soaking up some vitamin D. Especially when I know that February sun is like a spring break in the weather. Even the bulbs in my pots peaking out from under the mulch to catch a sun. With the weather being more wonderful than usual I knit up Mochimochi’s Ninjabun. I honestly should get outside instead of knitting what is outside.
Earlier this week I went to this amazing place called Makerhaus. For years I drove past this place on my way to work and wondered what was inside. The other day I finally went inside. The place is amazing! It is what Santa’s workshop would look like in the 21st century. There is a metal shop for welding, wood shop, laser cutter, 3D printers and computers with creative software. I could lose myself here. It was so much fun to get a tour of the different shops and the things that you can make there. My mind was swarming with ideas on the car ride home. I will definitely go back as soon as I figure out the projects that I want to make.
I get my best ideas when I am in the middle of a WIP (work on progress). I have a pile of birds waiting to get their wings attached and their beaks made, I have a few animals waiting patiently to be photographed, a couple waiting to be finished, more receipts and contracts that need to be entered in to a data base, a studio space that is 2/3 of the way set up and a new magazine that I have been wanting to read for 2 months. Creativity takes a lot of time.
Next post I will show you the things that I have been knitting on but today may be the day to give my hands a rest and to spend sometime outside.
