A space for collecting ideas

I have been working hard at putting my little studio together.  There are still a few boxes stuffed in a corner but it has been coming along.  Finding places to put everything has been a challenge.  In our old house I never  had a room where I put all of my knitting and crafting things.  Now that I do, I can see that I have a lot more than I thought.

When my husband and I were dating and getting ready to move in together I remember thinking “Wow he is an artist!  We are going to have amazing art to decorate the house with!”  10 years later, we have enough art to decorate two or three houses with.  I had forgotten that one of the side effects of making things is that you have a lot of things you made.

With my new studio space and so much time to create I can feel the ideas building up.  I have been sketching in my notebooks and making list to keep these ideas from hiding in my subconscious.  I am by practice an organized person.  I make lists, straighten pillows, fold stray clothing and prefer a clean, organized house.  But I also love the chaos of the creative process.  It is a little like a puzzle.  The difference is that I don’t know what the puzzle is supposed to look like in the end.
